Fulvia M. Vera de Duran
Putnam- Fulvia M. Vera de Duran, 89 of David Circle died Monday, February 23, 2009 in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Alfredo Duran Vargas. Born in Mariquita, Tolima, Colombia, S. A. she was the daughter of the late Deogracias Vera and Delfina Murillo de Vera. She lived in Venezuela before moving to Putnam in 1973.
Mrs. Vera de Duran was the true matriarch of her family. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her great grandchildren, family, and friends. She also enjoyed sewing and traveling.
Fulvia is survived by her two beloved daughters, G. Teresita Duran de East-Trou and her companion Duane Dudek of Southbridge, MA and Luz A. Duran de Bernier and her husband Ronald Bernier of Putnam; her sister, Lilia Vera de Bernier and her husband Archille Bernier of Putnam; four grandchildren, Debbie Bernier and her companion, Rick Key of Putnam, Deanna Defocy of Woodstock, Angela Karamanakas and her husband George of Southbridge, and Mariana Barry and her husband Michael of E. Bridgewater, MA; and eleven great grandchildren, Joshua, Marina, Mason, Dimitri, Costa, Niko, Ezaviar, George, Michaela, Sophia, and Christian.
Relatives and friends are invited to Fulvia’s Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am Saturday, February 28, 2009 in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Gilman Funeral Home is entrusted with her arrangements.
