Steven J. Budny, Sr.

1918 – 2012

Plainfield – Steven J. Budny, Sr., 93, of Windsor Ave., formerly of Walker Road in Quinebaug, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 in Day Kimball Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Veronica (Jarvis) Budny and the late Gertrude (Rock) Budny. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Budny.

Mr. Budny served his country in the United States Army during WWII and then went on to work as a bakery supervisor for Superior Bakery. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and a life member of the Moose Lodge.

Steven is survived by his son, Steven Budny, Jr., and his fiancée Elizabeth Robishaw of Westerly, RI; his daughter Debra Budny of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. He was predeceased by his daughter, the late Christine Hastreiter.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Steven’s family from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 30, 2012 with a funeral service to be held at 8:00 pm in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N.
