N. Grosvenordale- Stella (Duszlak) Jamrogowicz, 94, of Rachel Drive died Friday March 2, 2012 in Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge, MA. She married “Her Johnny” the late John Jamrogowicz on May 27, 1939 in St. Joseph Church, North Grosvenordale, CT. Born in North Grosvenordale, CT, she was the daughter of Stanley and Anna (Twardzik) Duszlak.
Stella worked as a Spinner for the former Cluett Peabody Mill and the former Baltic Mill. Then she worked for the Sandler-ette Shoe Co. Later she learned Braille and was a reading aide for the Thompson School system retiring in 1982.
A communicant of St. Joseph Church, Stella served as secretary for the parish Ladies of St. Anne. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Thompson, and the Community Fire Department Auxiliary. She was a member of Dr. Van Cardiac Group of Southbridge, Massachusetts. For over 50 years, Stella and her husband John were Thompson’s Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
Stella is survived by daughters and sons-in-laws; Patricia and Robert Blain of North Grosvenordale, Ct. and Judith and George Campbell of Tallmadge, Ohio; her grandchildren Nancy and her husband Kenneth Berube of Groton, Connecticut, Scott and his wife Michele Campbell of Tallmadge, Ohio and Sandra and her husband Domenic Costa of Stow, Ohio; her great grandchildren Jack Costa, Sydney Costa, Adam Berube, Mitchell Berube and Natalie Berube; her sister Nellie Piotroski of Brooklyn, Ct; and many nieces and nephews. Stella was the sister of the late Helen Beaulac, Catherine Spiewakowski, John Duszlak, Joseph Duszlak, Edward Duszlak, and Stasia Morin.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Stella’s family on Monday March 5, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale, CT. A gathering will begin at 9:00 am, Tuesday March 6, 2012 in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale, CT, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
