1921 – 2012

Grosvenordale – Robert “Pete” Duquette, 90, formerly of Grosvenordale, died Monday, February 6, 2012 in Matulaitis Nursing Home. Born in Grosvenordale, he was the son of the late Adrian and Diana (Mailloux) Duquette.

Pete is survived by his wife of 63 years, Susan (Rogers) Duquette. He is also survived by two sons, Robert B. Duquette and his wife Margaret of Webster MA, and James M. Duquette and his wife Christine of Woodstock CT; two daughters, Catherine Duquette of Dudley, MA, and Janice L. Duquette of Grosvenordale; a brother, Arthur Duquette and his wife Josephine of Grosvenordale; five grandchildren, Rory Duquette and his wife Susan of Webster, MA, Marinda Dexheimer and her husband Mike of Fairhaven, MA, William Duquette of Homestead, FL, Lindsey Duquette of Providence, RI and Kelsey Duquette of Vermont; and two great grandchildren. He is predeceased by two sons, two sisters and a brother.

Pete worked as a mechanic for Cormier & Larrow Chrysler as well as Place Ford and Cargill Chevrolet. He also worked for Ivanhoe Tool & Die and Weltco. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and was a lifetime member of Valley Springs Sportsman’s Club. For many years, Pete traveled with his group salmon fishing in New Brunswick and in later years kept his fishing boat in Stonington, CT.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Robert’s family on Friday, February 10, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale, CT. A gathering will begin at 12:00 pm, Saturday, February 11, 2012 in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00pm in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale, CT, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
