Putnam – Jeanine L. “Aunt” Hamel, 72, of Ballou St., died Sunday, October 28, 2012 in Matulaitis Nursing Home. Born in Webster, MA, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Muriel (Dumouchel) Hamel.

Mrs. Hamel worked as an order picker for Staples, at Day Kimball as an LPN, and for
Frito-Lay as a quality control inspector. She was the president of the Thompson Senior Citizens, and Chaplin of the Quinebaug VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed word searches and playing bingo.

Jeanine is survived by her daughter Michelle Rain and her fiancé Geoff McLewis of Pomfret Center, her loving sister Rachel Wajer and her husband of N. Grosvenordale; her grandchildren, Ethan Rain, and Kane McLewis; she was a special “Aunt” to many. She was predeceased by her son, the late Glen Rain.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jeanine’s family from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2012 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
