Thompson – Geraldine M. (Blouin) Grenier, age 80, of Pompeo Road, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home of Alzheimer’s on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. She leaves her husband of 61 years and caregiver, Paul H. Grenier of Thompson; a son, Paul B. Grenier of Putnam; a daughter, Jacqueline Oleszewski and her husband Paul of Woodstock Valley; a brother, Roland Blouin of Webster; a sister, Rita Strzelewicz of Worcester; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was born in Webster, daughter of the late Emile and Yvonne (Fournier) Blouin. She lived most of her life in North Grosvenordale moving from Webster. She was a retired nurse’s aide, having worked at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. She was an avid reader and loved to crochet. The funeral will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011, from the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main Street, North Grosvenordale beginning at 9:00 am, followed by a Mass at 10:30 am in Saint Joseph Church, Main Street, North Grosvenordale. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, North Grosvenordale. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, October 2, 2011, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Putnam – Gerald J. Bibeault, 95, of Smith St., died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in Westview Healthcare Center. He was the loving husband of the late Loretta (Mathieu) Bibeault. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Alfred and Rosanna (Cloutier) Bibeault.
Mr. Bibeault was a 1942 graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to work as an engineer for Kaman Aerospace Corp. in Bloomfield, CT and the Chance Vought Corp. retiring in 1972. Gerald was a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation.

North Grosvenordale – Constance “Connie” (Borse) LaRoche, 87, of School Street, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Donat LaRoche who died in 1992. Born in North Grosvenordale, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Galuski) Borse.
Mrs. LaRoche worked as a bookkeeper for the former WACAP agency, retiring in 1989. She also worked at BW Footwear, and Jens Risom.
Mrs. LaRoche was a member of St. Joseph Parish and had previously been active with the Columbiettes and the Ladies of St. Anne.
Constance is survived by her son, Paul LaRoche; and daughter Catherine Thomas, both of North Grosvenordale. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, the late Bernice Roberts, and Viola Dion.

North Grosvenordale – Jerome A. Groh, 57, of Riverside Drive, died Monday, September 26, 2011 in UMass Memorial Hospital. Born in Webster, MA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Victoria (Wagher) Groh.
Mr. Groh was a graduate of Tourtelotte High School and went on to work as a foreman for Campanella Fence. He loved fishing and cooking.
Jerome is survived by his twin daughters, Alicen E. Groh of Bethel, CT, and Ariel K. Groh of North Grosvenordale, CT; his brother, Lawrence K. Groh, Sr. and his wife Linda of Thompson; his sisters, Barbara Hoginski and her husband William of Dover, NH, Rita Rohr and her husband Gordon of North Grosvenordale, Henrietta Panu and her husband Charles of Thompson, and Felicia Balcom and her husband Thomas of North Grosvenordale; his former wife, Gail McClellan of Waterbury, CT; and several nieces and nephews.

Danielson – Theresa (Adamczyk) Chzaszcz, 82, of Westcott Road, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 in Regency Heights of Danielson. Born in Goodyear, CT, she was daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Kuta) Adamczyk.
Mrs. Chzaszcz lived in Putnam for most of her life and was formerly employed as a machine operator at Preferred Plastics Inc. and later the Danco Corporation until her retirement. She enjoyed reading novels, drawing sketches and spending time with family and friends. “Terry” as she was known, had a great sense of humor and was well-liked by everyone she had the opportunity to meet. She will be dearly missed. Terry was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.
Theresa is survived by her sons, John M. Chzaszcz of Putnam, Gary J. Chzaszcz of Thompson, and Steven M. Chzaszcz and his wife Lucy of Putnam; her sister, Laura Campion of Putnam; her grandchildren, Joseph, Magdalena, and Matthew; and her great grandchild, Jasmine; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Mike Karibian; her brothers, the late Rudolph “Jake” Adamczyk, and Fred “PeeWee” Adamczyk; and her sisters, the late Mary Willet, Stellar “Peggy” Dion, Irene Desutter, and Jenny Kempf.

Putnam – June (Morse) Herlihy, 87, of Walnut Street, died Friday, September 23, 2011 in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late John F. Herlihy. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Jeannette Morse.
Mrs. Herlihy worked in retail at Shaws Stationary as well as Hallmark. She loved football and basketball and enjoyed rooting for UCONN, the Patriots, and the Celtics. Her favorite pastime was watching her grandchildren play sports. Through the hot summer, the rain, or the snow, she never missed their games. She also enjoyed reading and soaking in the sun at the Boa Vista on Cape Cod.
June is survived by her sons, Ellsworth G. “Butch” Herlihy and his wife Diane of Putnam, and Brian J. Herlihy and his companion Mary of Worcester; her daughters, Elizabeth “Betty” Aucoin and her husband Peter of Putnam, Kathryn Saucier and her husband Ronald of Woodstock, and Marianne Loomis and her husband Richard of Putnam; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son John Francis “Jackie” Herlihy.

Ashford – Elizabeth (Ladson) Rauert, 88, of Ashford Center Road, formerly of Broad Channel, NY, died Saturday September 17, 2011 in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late John Rauert. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Caroline (Kolgen) Ladson.
Mrs. Rauert was a homemaker.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, John M. Rauert, Jr. of Woodstock; her daughter, Carol Olsen of Ashford; and her granddaughter, Ginger Ann Olsen.

Grosvenordale – Pauline C. (Mathew) Bourdia 79, of Riverside Drive died Saturday September 17, 2011 in Hartford Hospital. She was the loving wife of Edward J. Bourdia, Sr. for 51 years. Born in Westerly, RI, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Cora (Mayhew) Burdick
Mrs. Bourdia worked in the inspection department at Colts Plastics. She was an avid Red Sox and UConn Huskies fan. She loved caring for her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Pauline is survived by her four sons, Donald Genest and his wife Sue of Woodstock, Leonard Genest and his wife Kelley of Putnam, James Genest and his companion Linda Simmons of Woodstock and Edward Bourdia, Jr.and his wife Pam of Grosvenordale; her five daughters, Donna Drake and her husband Jack of Oneco, Theresa Chiras and her husband James of Hubert, NC, Mary Preston and her husband Raymond of N. Grosvenordale, Cora Grider and her husband Ben of Grosvenordale and Lorinda Radzik and her husband Paul of Grosvenordale; four step-sons from California; 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.

Canterbury – Samuel A. DeFilippo, 64, of Bingham Rd., died Thursday, September 15, 2011 in William W. Backus Hospital. He was the loving husband of Sandra (Credit) DeFilippo. Born in Webster, MA, he was the son of the late Samuel and Josephine (Krukowski) DeFilippo.
Sam worked for 37 years and retired as a Consumer Safety Inspector for the U.S.D.A. He loved gardening almost as much as traveling around the country with his wife Sandy. He was an avid and loyal Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. In his retirement years, he enjoyed the outdoors kayaking and riding around in his Jeep.
In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by his son, Anthony DeFilippo of Norwich; his daughters, Iris Sattar of Coventry, CT, Lisa Chareunsri of San Diego, CA, and Aleisha DeFilippo of Portland, OR; his brother, Frank DeFilippo of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchildren, Nathan, Haley, Leah, Elise, Tallulah, Myca, and Nico.

Putnam – Doris (Raymond) Paquin, 93, of Liberty Highway, died Friday, September 16, 2011, in the Transitional Care Unit at Hubbard Regional Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Elmer Paquin. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Albertine (Breault) Raymond.
Mrs. Paquin worked as a waitress for the Stateline Restaurant. She also worked in the Putnam High School cafeteria and the Israel Putnam School cafeteria. She was a member of the Putnam Senior Citizens, AARP and served for 50 years as the Putnam Alumni Association’s secretary. She enjoyed knitting, reading, traveling and cooking.
Doris is survived by her sons, Paul Paquin of Putnam; and Robert Paquin of Wilmington, MA; her grandchildren, James Paquin, Michael Paquin, Susan Freudenthal, Alicia Paquin, Jamie Paquin, and Chad Paquin; her great grandchildren, Ryan Freudenthal, Ashley Martinez, Makayla Martinez, and Tyler Martinez; her nieces and nephews, Joanne and Dale Warren of Eastford, Evelyn and Richard Samborski of N. Grosvenordale, and Roy Spielman; and her close friend, Evelyn Russell of Putnam. She was predeceased by her sisters, the late Laura Cady, Lorena LaPointe, and Beatrice Spielman.
