Plainfield – Clara S. Prieto, 66, of Windsor Avenue, died Friday, August 6, 2010, in the William Backus Hospital. She was the loving wife of Ramon L. Garcia. Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Clara (Roman) Prieto of Worcester, MA and the late Cecilio Prieto.
In addition to her husband and mother, Clara is survived by her sons, Raymon L. Garcia of Plainfield, Jose A. Garcia of Plainfield, and Jose M. Garcia of New York; her daughter, Ana Prieto of Plainfield; many brothers and sisters; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Clara’s family from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. A gathering will begin at 9:00 am on Thursday, August 12, 2010 in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 12, 2010 in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Thompson – David A. DeParasis, 75 of Porter Plain Road, passed away unexpectedly at Day Kimball Hospital on August 1, 2010.
Mr. DeParasis, a son of Edward and Maria (Poretta) DeParasis, was born in Williamsport on Nov. 7, 1934.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann (Askey) DeParasis and the following children; David “Barry”, of Dayville; Michele and husband, Al Chin, of Billerica, MA; Brian of Plainfield and Melanie Manzoli, at home. He also leaves nine grandchildren; Stacey DeParasis, Maddie D. Chin, Heather, Holly and Brian DeParasis, Michael, Chris, Shawn (Sandra) Hamilton and Matthew Smart, as well as two great-grandchildren, Grant and Alexander.
In addition, he leaves the following brothers and sister; Orlando, Vittorio (Sarah), Edward (Marie) of Williamsport, PA; Silvio (Donna) of Jersey Shore, PA; Joseph (Jane) of St. Petersburg, FL and Amelia (Ken) Rinker of Montoursville, PA and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, an adopted sister, Linda Walton and two infant brothers.
He was a finishing foreman for Williamsport Manufacturing Company, but relocated to North Grosvenordale, CT in 1956 with Jens Risom Design until they closed, working with Ethan Allen and Helikon until he retired.
For many years, he was a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop #66, in Thompson, CT; a Lifetime member of the Woodstock Fair and a Woodstock Fair Committee Member, helping with Entertainment. He was a partner of the Red Chimney Hunting Lodge in Pennsylvania. His hobbies included coin collecting, photography, woodworking, and hunting. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

Danielson, CT & West Boylston, MA- Roberta “Robbie” J. Mayotte, 43 of Picabo St., Danielson, CT died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous year & a half battle with brain cancer. She was the loving wife of Michael Mayotte.
Born in Worcester, MA, She was the daughter of the late Robert and Amelia (Leonardi) Hayes. Raised in West Boylston, Robbie graduated from West Boylston High School and received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Fitchburg State College. She worked as a registered nurse for the VNA of Southern Worcester County. She was a fun loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. Her warm smile will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children Dillon, Matthew, and Lauren all of Danielson; her two brothers, Thomas Hayes and Dennis Hayes both of West Boylston; her sister Suzanne Degnan of Dudley, MA and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Roberta’s family from 5:00 to 8:00pm, Thursday, August 5, 2010 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday August 7, 2010 at 10:00am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston, MA followed by burial in Mount Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Dana Farber Brain Tumor Research Fund, c/o Dr. Patrick Wen, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Dr. Patrick Wen and his staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute for their compassionate care; to Mindy Mahan for being her loving best friend; to her many co-workers at the VNA of Southern Worcester County for their constant devotion to Robbie and her family; and to Day Kimball Hospital Homecare / Hospice of Northeast Connecticut for their care that allowed Robbie to stay in her home.
