Putnam – William H. Taylor, Sr., 75, of South Main St, died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at home. Born in Lancaster, NH, he was the son of the late Earnest and Stella (Cavanaugh) Taylor.
After serving in the Army during the Post Korean Era, Mr. Taylor worked as a welder at Electric Boat for 19 years. He was a member of the Boiler Maker’s Union.
William is survived by his sons, William H. Taylor, Jr. of Putnam, Michael L. Taylor of RI; his daughters, Megan A. Taylor of Putnam, and Brenda L. Taylor of Moosup and three grandchildren Mykeala Taylor, Makenzi Taylor and Mason Henry Renkert.

Thompson – Kenneth J. Bennett, Sr., 76, of New Rd, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010. He was the loving husband of the late, Jeanne A. Benoit. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Ellsworth and Olive-Ann (Lapointe) Bennett.
Mr. Bennett worked as a plant operator for Arrow Gas in Millbury, MA for 18 years until his retirement in 1995. He also worked for Webster Ice, Coal & Oil for 10 years. Mr. Bennett enjoyed crafts and woodworking.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Kenneth Bennett, Jr. of Danielson, CT; two step-sons, Gary Martinik and John Martinik, both of Thompson; two step-daughters, Laurie Carignan of Pawcatuck, CT, and Melissa Demers of Plainfield, CT, and 5 grandchildren.
Burial will be private in Munyan Cemetery. Gilman Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements.

Putnam – Elaine (Henderson) Perry, 85, of Kennedy Drive, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the loving wife of Charles H. Perry, Jr. Born in Patchogue, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Julia (Layos) Henderson.
Mrs. Perry was a homemaker. She enjoyed Foxwoods and playing bingo.
In addition to her husband, Elaine is survived by her grandchildren, Donna Dumas, Debbie Kellenberger, John Brisson, and Vicki Bousquet; her great grandchildren, Michael Hart, Timothy Hart, Christie Vetter, Paul Stransky III, Shannon Monette, Heather Brisson, and Garrick Brisson; and one great-great grandson.
She was predeceased by her daughter, the late Patricia Brisson.

Putnam – Virginia M. Doucette, 81 formerly of Thompson died peacefully Saturday, May 22, 2010 with her family by her side at Regency Heights of Danielson after a very long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Doucette.
Born in Chelsea, MA, she was the daughter of the late William J. Curran and Blanche Chambers.
Mrs. Doucette worked as an assembler for the former Sanitary Dash Co. in N. Grosvenordale. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and reading.
She is survived by three daughters, Carol Nadeau of Brooksfield, FL, Linda Manis and her husband Norman of Inverness, FL, Doreen Cote and her husband Doug of Putnam; a daughter in law, Cathy-Joy Doucette of Thompson; a sister, Blanche Doucette of Putnam; twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Edward J. Doucette, Sr. who died in 2009. The family would like to thank the nurses, aids and staff at Regency Heights of Danielson for the care that Virginia received.

Sterling – Robert G. Langlois, 67, of Sawmill Hill Road, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in his home. He was the loving husband of Cynthia R. (Cusson) Langlois. Born in West Thompson, he was the son of the late Arthur F. and Rita (Dumas) Langlois
Mr. Langlois worked as an arborist for 18 years at Davey Tree, retiring in 2008. He also worked security for Bensons Animal Farm. He enjoyed NASCAR Racing and loved to fish. He was a member of the former Putnam Irish Club.
In addition to his wife, with whom he just celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary; Robert leaves his son, Arthur G. Langlois of Hudson, NH; his daughter, Tina Langlois of Sterling, CT; his stepdaughters, Robin Jacobson of Manchester, NH, and Dawn Heath-Ford of Santa Rosa, CA; his sisters, Gloria Newth of Eastford, CT, and Madeline St. Onge of Yellsville, AR; and his grandchildren, Jarrod Jacobson, and Justess Bowels.

Woodstock – Gertrude (Plantier) Moylan, 78, died Friday May 14, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Putnam, CT, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Cecilia (St. Jean) Plantier. She was the wife of Richard Moylan.
Mrs. Moylan was a loving wife and fulltime mother. She was a graduate of the Oak Hill School for the Blind in Hartford. She enjoyed knitting. She loved her guide dogs including her new companion dog “Doobie.” She was a small woman with great faith, compassion, strength and vision. She will be sorely missed.
Mrs. Moylan is survived by her son, Dennis Moylan of Manchester; her daughters, Pamela Bartolomei and her husband John of Woodstock, Theresa Moylan of Woodstock, Linda Johnson and her husband Gary of New Brittan, Diane Moylan-Cooke and her husband Steven of Woodstock, Jo-Ann Moylan of Sprague, Amy Beaudoin and her husband Patrick of East Hartford, and Erin Moylan of North Providence; her daughter-in-law, Karon Dodge of Woodstock; her sister, Rosalie Bazinet of Jefferson ME; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Moylan was pre-deceased by her children, Richard Moylan and Nancy Moylan, a brother, Walter Plantier, and a beloved granddaughter, Ayla Moylan.

Putnam – Stephen L. Jankot, 62, formally of Roosevelt St, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 in Danielson, CT. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Adam and Evelyn (Ste. Marie) Jankot.
Mr. Jankot graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1970 and worked toward a postgraduate degree. He worked as a welder and painter for Electric Boat in Groton, CT.
Mr. Jankot loved animals, especially dogs. He enjoyed reading and listening to jazz music. He was a fervent Boston Red Sox Fan.
Stephen is survived by his sisters, Susan Jankot of Woodstock, and Chris Jankot of Putnam; and his niece and his nephew.

Danielson – Anthony “Little Tony” Yarrow, Jr., 51, of Wyndham Landing, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Day Kimball Hospital. Born in Waterbury, CT, he was the son of Marion (Noble) Yarrow, and the late Anthony D. Yarrow, Sr.
Mr. Yarrow worked as a surveyor for several companies including KWP, CME, CPK, and Dick Corporation. He loved boating and the ocean, as well as motocross racing. He also enjoyed flying and had his pilot’s license.
In addition to his mother, Anthony is survived by his sister, Dr. Deborah Yarrow and her companion Donald Hemmer of Guilford, CT; and his companion, Hannah Nason of Danielson.
A memorial service will be held at 9:00 am, Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Saint Anthony’s Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect, CT 06712. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church Street, Putnam, CT 06260 has been entrusted with arrangements.

Thompson, CT – Edward Alush Negip, 70, of 8 Hill Road, died Saturday May 8, 2010 in Worcester, MA. He was the loving husband of Beverly (Valade) Negip. Born in North Grosvenordale, CT, he was the son of the late Alush and Stella (Lenky) Negip.
Mr. Negip began working as an insurance salesman for Archambault Insurance Associates. He then became a partner in the Negip-Naum Insurance Agency for ten years before joining Commerce Insurance from where he retired in 2005. He was a past member of the Thompson Lions Club and the Putnam Elks Club. He was passionate about golf and enjoyed every aspect of the game. He also took great pleasure in working around his home and caring for his property, especially while on his John Deere tractor. But, time spent with his family was what Ed most treasured.
In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by his son, David Negip and his wife Kate of Fort Myers, FL, his son-in-law, Charles LeVine, Jr. of Pomfret Center; his brother, Maurice Negip of Webster; three sisters, Helen Fontaine of Southbridge, MA, Stasia Buczynski of Eagle River, AK, Virginia Lavallee of Charlton, MA, many nieces and nephews; and, four grandchildren, Charles, Nathan, Katherine and Madeline. He was the father of the late Judith (Negip) LeVine (1969 – 2006) and the brother of the late Emile Negip, Theresa LeBoeuf, Doris Augustynski and Richard Negip.

Putnam & Simsbury, CT – Angelo Criscione, 93, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010. Born in Ragusa, Sicily, he was the son of the late Joseph and Santa (Russo) Criscione. He came to the US as a boy and became a citizen. As a teenager Angelo lived with his family in NY helping with support by selling firewood and newspapers with his younger brother. Angelo served in the 195th Army Corp of Engineers during WWII in the African campaign. He trained as a fine art lithographer at The Cooper Union in NY, and is a member of the Amalgamated Lithographer’s Union. As a young man Angelo exhibited his artistic talent and enjoyed a life-long love of painting with shows in the tri-state area. Angelo met his wife of 63 years, Jean (Herlihy) Criscione in NY. They were married in St. Mary Church of the Visitation in Putnam, CT, and settled in New Jersey to raise their three children: Karen, Elaine, and Donald. Angelo and Jean retired to Simsbury, CT in 1992. In addition to his wife, Angelo is survived by his two daughters, Karen Bushong and her husband David, and Elaine Criscione; his son, Donald Criscione and his wife Mary; his brother Sam Criscione and his wife Helen; and his six grandchildren, Bryan, Nickel, Krista, Timothy, Andrew and Kevin. Visitation will be Wednesday May 12, 2010 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St. Putnam, CT followed by Mass and Burial at St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St. Putnam. A Memorial Service will be held in Simsbury at a later date.
