Putnam, CT – Jessica Ann “Jessie” Mills, 21 of Church St. formerly of Windham, died unexpectedly Friday January 22, 2010 in an automobile accident in Eastford. Born in Windham, she was the loving daughter of the Gordon M. Mills Jr. and Mary R. (Wheeler) Mills of Putnam.
For the last four years, Jessie worked for Bagel One in Windham where she enjoyed interacting with her customers. A talented artist, she was gifted at drawing cartoon characters and illustration. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was the beloved sister of Mark Mills, Gordon Mills III, and Jennifer Mills, all of Putnam; the paternal granddaughter of Jean R. Mills of Lebanon; the paternal great granddaughter of Edilina Dochek of Lebanon; the niece of Thomas “Billy” Mills of Vermont, Travis Mills and John Mills both of Lebanon, James Wheeler of Coventry, Cindy Mills of Michigan, Kathy Pointer of Bolton and Sandra Wheeler of Willimantic; and a friend to many.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jessie’s family from 5:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday January 27, 2010 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam with a Funeral Service held at 7:30 pm in the Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Westfield, MA – Claire LePine went home to God on Thursday morning as her loving family embraced her. She was born in Putnam, CT on October 24, 1925 to her beloved parents Dora and Francis LePine. She leaves her devoted children, Michelle Fournier and husband Mark, Marie Kunkler and husband Dennis, Annette Newman and husband Joe, Walter Godek and companion Sue, and Monique Dangleis and husband Bob. Claire’s gifts to the world include her 12 grandchildren; Genevieve, David, Marissa Fournier; Lee, Lauren, Stephen Kunkler; Nick Newman; Ashley, Kevin, Michael Godek; Beau, Abby Dangleis. They will forever cherish memories of their Memere. She is predeceased by her brothers Paul LePine, Francis LePine and sister Theresa Nichols. She is survived by her loving sister, Rita Kirmil and many caring nieces and nephews.
Claire was a devout Catholic who made a pilgrimage to Fatima, Portugal. She continually expressed her faith through deed and word. The depth of her magnificent love knew no bounds. What a GIFT God gave to us! Though she has left this earth, her legacy of strength, dignity, humor and love live on. She has inspired us with her intelligence, unselfishness and unwavering grace even in the most difficult of times. We will use her life as an exemplary model for our own. Thank you, mom.
Waking hours will be held at Messier’s Funeral Home in Holyoke, MA on Sunday January 24, 2010 from 4:00-7:00pm. A viewing will take place at the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church Street, Putnam, CT on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 10:00am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donate to The Arthritis Foundation’s Hope Through Heroes Memorial Fund.

Putnam – Joan A. Prentiss, 75, of Thurber Rd, formerly of North Grosvenordale, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010, in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Laurence F. Prentiss, Sr. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Ferinand and Emma (Lamoureux) Champagne.
Mrs. Prentiss was a homemaker. She enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles, and watching lifetime movies. She especially loved being around her family.
Joan is survived by her sons, Laurence F. Prentiss, Jr. of Coventry, CT, and Sean A. Prentiss of North Grosvenordale; her daughters, Maureen Demarais of Thompson, Michelle J. Clark of Worcester, Lori L. Gaumond of Dayville, Shannon Gaugh of Dayville, and Toni Prentiss of Webster; her sister Geraldine Choquette of Webster, MA; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, the late Michael Curio; her brothers, the late Richard Champagne, and the late Raymond Champagne; and her sister, the late Dolores Kratz.

Putnam, CT – Freda Teresa Mineo, originally of Jessup, PA, 89, died peacefully at Lanessa Nursing Home in Webster, MA surrounded by her family and the wonderful caregivers at Lanessa. She was the loving wife of the late George Mineo. Freda was the last of five children born to Adolfo and Annetta Cardoni, from Gubbio, Italy, who settled in Jessup, PA in 1913.
Freda moved to the Ella Grasso Garden Apartments in Putnam, CT in 2004, leaving her hometown of Dunmore, PA to be closer to her son’s family. Freda worked for 46 years at the Scranton Garment Factory, and loved caring for children in her retirement years. She lived a full and healthy life and her genuine good nature and compassion was admired by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Richard Mineo and his wife, Wanda of Woodstock, CT; her granddaughter Michelle Bourgeois and her husband, Chuck of Thompson CT; her grandson, Rick Mineo and his wife, Lourdes of Raleigh, NC; and three great-grandsons, Charles and Vincent Bourgeois and Aldo Mineo.
Funeral arrangements are private as requested by the family.

North Grosvenordale – Adelard LaFleur, 84, of Buckley Hill Road, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Doris (LeBoeuf) LaFleur. Born in North Grosvenordale, he was the son of the late Felix and Leda (Martel) LaFleur.
Mr. LaFleur received the distinguished Purple Heart Metal while serving as a veteran of the United States Army in WWII. He retired from the Connecticut Department of Transportation and previously worked for the Rogers Corporation.
Del was the oldest active member of the Valley Springs Sportsman Club. He was also a member of the VFW Post 10088 and a past member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived his daughter, Pauline Marzec and her husband Fred of Griswold; his son, Albert LaFleur and his wife Gail of Quinebaug; his brother, William G. LaFleur of Plainfield; his sister, Theresa Rice of North Grosvenordale; his grandchildren Andrea Dameron, Melissa Smey, Andrew LaFleur, and Matthew LaFleur; his great grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, and Sydney Dameron, Tyler and Gabrielle Smey.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Armand, Leo, Alcide and Wilfred LaFleur; and his sister, Adrienne Cardinal.

Danielson – Marion Verrette, 77, of Maple Court, died Friday, January 15, 2010 in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the loving wife of Oscar P. Verrette. Born in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Eva (Laroque) Frazer.
Mrs. Verrette worked as a seamstress in the garment industry. She enjoyed knitting and sewing.
In addition to her husband, Marion is survived by her children, Paul R. Verrette of Las Vegas, NV, Lawrence Verrette of Danielson, Timothy Verrette of Thompson, Katherine Jodion of Attawaugon, Joseph Verrette of Plainfield, Louis Verrette of Dayville, Lydia Verrette of Brooklyn, CT, Patricia Garceau of Woodstock, William Verrette of Putnam, and Steven Verrette of Putnam; her brother, George Frazer of New Bedford, MA; her sister Doris Milot of Waterloo, IA; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pomfret – Jeanne F. Verrette, 77 of Covell Road died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at home. She was the loving wife of Adrien J. Verrette for 56 years.
Born in Green, Me, she was the daughter of the late Henry Champagne and the late Florence (Tetreault) Champagne.
Mrs. Verrette attended Sacred Heart School in Jackman, Me and graduated from Durfee High School in Fall river. She worked as a presser in the textile and garment industry.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Mary Rose Champagne of California, and Rita Brodeur of Southington, CT. She was the sister of the late Henry Champagne, Eugene Champagne, Julien Champagne, Lorraine Verrette, Theresa Smith and Gloria Hornsby.

Thompson – Terrence Mark Brown, 59, of Colonial Avenue, died Thursday, January 14, 2010, in his home, surrounded by family after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. He was the loving husband of Linda D. (Ford) Brown for 38 years. Born in Brockton, MA, he was the son of the late George J. and Eleanor R. (Dunn) Brown.
Terry worked in sales for Harold W. Young, Inc. in Natick, MA for the past six years and prior to that at Millbrook Distribution Services Inc. in Leicester, MA. He enjoyed skiing, riding his motorcycle, amusement parks, his dogs, spending time with his family and was an avid outdoorsman. He was also a true and dedicated Red Sox and Patriots fan.
In addition to his wife, Terry is survived by his son, Peter M. Brown and his wife Melissa of Gambrills, MD; his daughters, Heather M. Brown of Thompson, CT, and Erin L. (Brown) Golembiewski and her husband Keith of Suffield, CT; his brothers, Dennis Brown and his wife Pam of West Barnstable, MA, Kevin Brown and his wife Nancy of Brewster, MA, and Sean Brown and his wife Peggy of Winston, OR; his sisters, Kathleen Cabral and her husband Peter of Hyannis, MA, and Colleen Mendoza and her husband Brian of Hyannis, MA; his grandchildren, Benjamin N. Brown, and Abigail N. Brown. He is also survived by many close nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Danielson – Dorothy (Hanson) Gilbert, 82, formerly of Putnam, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in Regency Heights. She was the loving wife of the late James F. Gilbert. Born in Cambridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Kelley) Hanson.
Mrs. Gilbert worked as a cashier for Pevner’s Pharmacy for five years before retiring in the late 1970’s. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, the Polish Club, and the former Irish Club.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Margaret Guerra and her husband David of Putnam; her son, Douglas Gilbert of Norwich; her sisters, Mary Sheehan of Everett, MA, Beverly Hanson of Massachusetts, and Barbara Carbone of Cambridge, MA; Six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
At Dorothy’s request, services are private. Gilman Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements.

Woodstock - Robert H. Lillibridge, 66, of West Quasset Road, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 in Putnam. He was the loving husband of Marie (Mathurin) Lillibridge for 22 years. Born in West Warwick, RI, he was the son of Marion (Smith) Lillibridge of Clayville, RI and the late Henry Lillibridge.
Mr. Lillibridge worked as a steamfitter for Steamfitters Union Local 51 (formerly local 476) of East Providence, RI for 30 years retiring in 1998. He served in Sea Bee’s during the Vietnam War. Mr. Lillibridge was a member of the Royal Travelers and the National Riffle Association. He enjoyed traveling, caring for his cat and feeding the birds that visited his hand made feeder. He collected antique cars and watching antique car auctions on TV. He was a jack-of-all-trades, tinkering and fixing just about anything.
In addition to his wife and mother, Robert is survived three brothers, Dennis Lillibridge of Chepachet, RI, William Lillibridge of Hopkinton, RI, Richard Lillibridge of Clayville, RI and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John Lillibridge.
