Michael C. Naum
1967 – 2009

Woodstock, CT- Michael C. Naum, 41, of Joy Road died Friday June 26, 2009 with his family by his side after a long and courageous journey with cancer. He was the loving husband of Genevive (Kwok) Naum. Born in Putnam, CT, he was the son of James and Anna (Noiseux) Naum of North Grosvenordale.

Mr. Naum was a 1991 graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he earned his degree in Electrical Engineering. He was also a 2008 graduate of the American Military University where he earned his master’s degree in Strategic Intelligence. In February 2008, as a student at AMU, he was selected to speak at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on his course work. During his brilliant career in the engineering field, Mr. Naum worked for such companies as Sun Microsystems where he held several patents. In 2002, he founded Silicon Dimensions Inc. serving as its CEO and CTO. In 2006, he joined Advanced Micro Devices. Outside of his academic and professional careers, Mr. Naum had many interests. He was an avid mountain bike rider, runner, fisherman and marksman. Mr. Naum was an EMT for Community Fire Department, an auxiliary Connecticut State Trooper and a member of Pomfret Rod & Gun Club.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two daughters, Heather Naum and Emily Naum both at home; his brother; his paternal grandmother, Blaga Naum of North Grosvenordale.

Relatives and friends are invited to Michael’s Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday July 1, 2009 at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale, CT. Burial will be private. Albert Tremblay

1917 – 2009

Thompson- Albert Tremblay, 92, of Brandy Hill Road, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in Matulaitis Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Rachael (Rawson) Bennett who died in 1992. Born in North Grosvenordale, he was the son of the late Leo and Florida (Blanchette) Trembley.

Mr. Tremblay worked as a construction equipment operator and truck driver. He had also worked for the Thompson highway department during the 1940’s. He enjoyed dancing and music Albert was a member of the former Irish American Club.

He is survived by his son, Roger Tremblay and his wife Thelma of Thompson. He was predeceased by his daughter Crystal Ostos and his brother Edmond Tremblay.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Albert’s family on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 9:00am in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Marguerite A. “Peg” Lancaster

Thompson – Margaret “Peg” A. (Costello) Lancaster, 62, of Thompson Road, died Monday, June 22, 2009 in Webster Manor.  She was the loving wife of Robert “Bob” Lancaster, Sr.  Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Katherin (Gillen) Costello. 

Mrs. Lancaster worked as an executive assistant for Credit Union Direct Lending in Marlboro, MA. 

Mrs. Lancaster was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who especially enjoyed her grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband, Peg is survived by her son, Robert Lancaster Jr. and his wife Sandra of Thompson; her daughter, Lori Baca and her husband James of Webster MA; her sister, Mary Costello of Hamden; and her four grandchildren, Robert Lancaster III, Evan Lancaster, Nolan Lancaster, and Kaitlin Baca. 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Peg’s family from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday June 24, 2009 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT 06255.  A gathering will begin in the funeral home at 9:00 am on June 25, 2009, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial  at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale.  Burial will follow in East Thompson Cemetery.  Memorial Donations may be made in her memory to the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.

Jacqueline A. Barton

Woodstock – Jacqueline A. (Rocheleau) Barton, 57, of Woodstock, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at home. She was the loving wife of Michael N. Barton. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Claire (Hamel) Rocheleau.

Mrs. Barton worked as a nurse for several area physicians throughout her lifetime.

In addition to her husband, Jacqueline is survived by her daughter, Lisa Barton of Boston MA; her son, Jeffrey Barton of Danielson; and her brothers, Bernard Rocheleau of Woodstock, and Richard “Rick” Rocheleau of Danielson.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jacqueline’s family from 9:00 to 10:30 am, Monday, June 22, 2009 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT. Jacqueline’s visitation will be followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale.

Ashley N. Leveillee

Thompson– Ashley N. Leveillee, 13, of Chase Road, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Day Kimball Hospital. Born in Worcester, MA, she was the loving daughter of Bob and Kathy (Marshall) Leveillee, owners of the Pizza Post in Oxford, MA.

Ashley had attended school at the Early Learning Center in Sutton, MA. Among her many interests were Girl Scouts and traveling with her family. She was a happy child who was full of life and loved to engage people. Ashley lived with an enthusiasm that was evident to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Ashley is survived by her sister, Renée Leveillee of Thompson; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Patricia Leveillee of Burrillville; her maternal grandparents, Nick and Carole Marshall of Thompson; her aunts, Nicole McGarry of Thompson, Lauren Bowen of Dover, NH, Sue Spahl of Dudley, MA, and Michelle McDonald of Cumberland, RI; and her many cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ashley’s family from 9:00am to 12:00pm, Saturday, June 20, 2009 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT, followed by a reception at 12:30pm at the Harvest Restaurant. Burial will be private.

Joseph S. Pusateri

Huntington Beach, CA – Joseph S. Pusateri, 58, of Eighth Street, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 in Lanessa Extended Care Center, in Webster, MA after an illness. Born in Scranton, PA he was the son of the late Sam and Elizabeth (Bartocci) Pusateri.

Mr. Pusateri worked as a product trainer for a printing company in California. An avid musician, he enjoyed playing the drums with several bands and most recently for the First United Methodist Church of Huntington Beach where he was a member.

He is survived by his sister Wanda R. Mineo and her husband Richard of Woodstock, CT; a nephew, Richard A. Mineo of Raleigh, NC; a niece, Michelle A. Bourgeois of Thompson, CT; and two great nephews, Vincent Bourgeois and Aldo Mineo.

Private burial with his parents will take place in St. Catherine Cemetery in Moscow, PA. Gilman Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements.

Neal F. Williams

Neal F. Williams, 77, of Genevieve St., died Thursday June 4, 2009 at home. He was the loving husband of the Barbara M. (Mathsen) Williams. Born in Nyack, NY, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Gladys (Housman) Williams.

Mr. Williams was a graduate of Nyack High School and Long Island Agricultural and Technical School. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the Air Force. He then worked as a packaging designer and salesman for Robertson Paper Box and Rand Whitney. He also worked as a night watchman for Sealy Brown Village. He was a volunteer firefighter in New York, Virginia and Connecticut. He served as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts and an Indian Guide leader. He enjoyed collected stamps and coins. He was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

In addition to his wife, Neal is survived by his sons, Charles A. Williams of Putnam, Richard F. Williams, of Norwich, Michael J. Williams and his wife Amy of Putnam, Peter J. Williams and his wife Jennifer of Wauregan, Steven G. Williams and his wife Gloria of Putnam and Christopher M. Williams and his wife Diana of Danielson; his daughters, Annemarie A. Cutler and her husband Russ of East Putnam, and Kathleen P. Williams of Putnam; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service for Neal at 3:00pm on Saturday June 13, 2009 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 11 Hill Road, Thompson, CT. Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery, Blauvelt, NY. Memorial Donations may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 11 Hill Rd. Thompson, CT 06277.
