East Putnam – A. Joseph “Joe” Auclair, Jr., 68, of Five Mile River Road, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 in Rhode Island. He was the beloved husband of Susanne (Sansoucy) Auclair. They were married in 1969 at St. Mary Church of the Visitation in Putnam. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Arthur J. Auclair Sr., and Estelle (Bazinette) Auclair.
Mr. Auclair was a graduate of Putnam High School and a post-graduate of Ellis Technical High School. He furthered his career at New England Technical School. He owned and operated A.J. Auclair & Son Electrical Contractors. He was the head electrician for the Woodstock Fair and was a member of the Connecticut National Guard for 22 years.
In addition to his wife, Arthur is survived by his son, Timothy Auclair and his wife Laurie of East Putnam; his grandchildren, Justine Boska and Josie Boska and his nephew, Michael Gadbois of Ohio. He was predeceased by his sister, the late Elizabeth Gadbois; and his brother in-law, the late Joseph Gadbois.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joe’s family from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Saturday, March 28, 2009 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, with a funeral service at 3:00 pm. Burial will be private.

Putnam – Lucille (Lizotte) Casko, 88, formerly of Myers Street, died Sunday, March 22, 2009 in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the loving wife of Robert Casko for 41 years until his death in 1987. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Maria (Robillard) Lizotte.
Mrs. Casko worked for Belding Hemingway for 30 years. Mrs. Casko was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed reading, especially about space exploration, medical and psychology topics.
Lucille is survived by her sons, Donald Casko and his wife Nancy of Millinocket ME, John Casko and his wife Dolly of Melbourne FL, and Michael Casko and his wife Donna of Putnam; her daughters, Sharon Pickering of Stafford Springs, and Barbara Lussier and her husband Bob of Putnam; her sisters, Jeanne Morrell of Putnam, Pauline Cotnoir of DE, and her twin sister, Annette Polanski of Dayville; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Putnam, CT – Maurice P. “Moe” Beaulac, 73, of Myers Street in Putnam, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in North Fort Myers, FL. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Oliver “Bum” Beaulac and Germaine (Arpin) Beaulac. He was the loving husband of Mary (Hannifan) Beaulac and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2008. Maurice owned and operated Beaulac’s Pharmacy in North Grosvenordale and Woodstock before retiring.
Mr. Beaulac was a graduate of St. Mary’s School and Killingly High School, he grew up in Attawaugan. After graduating from the University Of Connecticut School Of Pharmacy, he worked for the former Pevner’s Drug Store in Putnam, and then was manager of the North Grosvenordale branch before it became Beaulac’s Pharmacy. Maurice and Mary spent their winters in North Fort Myers, FL.
Maurice was an active member in the community serving as a Putnam Alderman for Ward 3, and a member of the Putnam Sewer Authority. He was a Communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation and a Corporator of Day Kimball Hospital where he served on many committees, most recently on the DKH Chaplaincy Board. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and the Connecticut Pharmaceutical Association. He was a member, past president and Paul Harris Fellow of the Putnam Rotary Club with perfect attendance for over 18 years and was a snowbird member of the Fort Myers East Rotary Club. He was a director of Putnam Savings Bank for over 20 years and was currently serving on the Putnam Bank Foundation.
He loved sharing great times and lots of laughs with his family and friends. He enjoyed Golfing, UConn Huskies Sports, summers at Alexander’s Lake and winters at Lake Fairways.
In addition to his wife Mary, Maurice is survived by his beloved children; Michael Beaulac of Stowe VT, Maureen Beaulac of Marlboro, MA, and Margaret Beaulac of Las Vegas, NV; his brother-in law and sister-in-law John and Colleen Hannifan and family of Boca Raton, FL and many cousins.

Putnam – Jeanne D. Brodeur, 76, of Woodstock Ave., died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, in Putnam. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Theriaque) LaPerle.
Ms. Brodeur worked as a waitress for twenty-five years at many area restaurants and as a clerk at Aubuchon Hardware for seven years. She enjoyed going to Mohegan Sun and watching Law and Order on TV. She had a devotion to St. Jude. She loved her family, always putting them first.
Jeanne is survived by her two sons, Kim Blackmar of Putnam, and Marc Blackmar of Enfield, NH; two daughters, Lisa Fenton of Putnam, and Mary Green of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sisters, A. Claire Menard of Webster, and Lianne Miller of Putnam; four grandchildren; Stephanie Malone of Putnam, Marrissa Malone of Putnam, Joseph Green of Lawrenceburg, TN and Jesse Blackmar of Enfield, NH; and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, the late Joseph LaPerle.

North Grosvenordale – Clifford J. “The Dog” Svenning, 68, of Faucher Street, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in Haven Health Care Center. Born in Webster, MA, he was the son of the late Clifford R. Svenning and Ethel (Peterson) Svenning.
Mr. Svenning worked as a cutter for Bates Shoe and as a baker for Superior Bakery for over 25 years where he rarely missed a day. Mr. Svenning was an avid fisherman. He frequently fly-fished and always took the opportunity to “wet his line”. He was well known by his many friends as a master fly tier. He was a lifetime member of the Valley Springs Sportsman Club. He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Thompson Lions Golf League where he played in the league for over 35 years. He also belonged to the Retirement League at the Woodstock Golf Club. He had a true ability to make golf clubs that helped many friends lower their scores. He was a lifelong member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in North Grosvenordale where he was baptized and confirmed. He rang the church bell each Sunday and was the “ticket seller” at the church suppers.
Clifford is survived by his brother, Robert Svenning and his wife Ellen from Boylston, MA; his cherished niece Kerinna Svenning Silvesti and her husband Lucio Silvestri of Westboro, MA; his nephew Robert Svenning, Jr. and his wife Deanna Devaney of London, England; many cousins and friends. His quick wit and knowledge will be sadly missed by all.

Putnam, CT – Elizabeth M. (Hayes) Tetreault, 88, of Woodside Street died Saturday, March 14, 2009 in Putnam. She was the loving wife of Leo C. Tetreault. Born in Great Barrington MA, She was the daughter of the late William and Helen (Knight) Hayes.
Mrs. Tetreault worked as an English teacher for Putnam High School. She was a graduate of the College of our Lady of the Elms where she earned membership in the Phi Beta Kappa fraternity. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation and a member of the League of Catholic Women.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Pat Wester, and her husband Bob, of Putnam, and Michelle Tetreault of North Andover, MA; and three grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, and Benjamin. She was predeceased by seven brothers: William Hayes, Esky Hayes, Joseph Hayes, Fr. Celsus Hayes OFM, Fr. Francis Hayes OFM, Fr. Charles Hayes OFM, and James Hayes.

Putnam- Henry O. Turenne, 92 formerly of Harrison St. died Friday March 6, 2009 in Danielson. He was the loving husband of the late Florence (Lariviere) Turenne. They were married on September 2, 1939. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Armand and Anna (Breault) Turenne. He lived in Putnam most of his life.
Henry attended St. Mary School before serving in the US Navy during World War II where he trained carrier pigeons to send messages during wartime. He was a master mechanic at many area garages. He was always in great demand. In later years, he took up woodworking and made many beautiful clocks, tables and hutches. Until three years ago, he was still changing his own oil, and puttering around his workshop. He was a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation, He enjoyed life to the fullest camping and spending time with his family.
Henry is survived by a son, Henry “Hank” Turenne and his wife Jana of Putnam; a daughter Irene Loftus and her fiancé Ron Thompson of Sand Creek, WI; 2 brothers, Normand Turenne of Putnam and Theodore Turenne of Canandaigua, NY, five grandchildren, Michael Turenne and his wife Alison, Jerry Loftus and his wife Becky, Gary Turenne and his fiancé Lisa, Lisa Lingren and her husband Pat, and Brian Loftus and his wife Julie and eight great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Antoinette Carpenter, Theresa Robillard, Aline Robert, Jeanne Currier and Donat Turenne and father-in-law to the late Larry Loftus.

Putnam – Michael W. Swenson, 54, of River Road, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, in Putnam. He was the loving husband of Christine Swenson. Born in Greenwich, CT, he was the son of Bernice (Comeau) Swenson and the late William Swenson.
Mr. Swenson worked as a self-employed painting contractor. Mike was a two-term selectman for the town of Putnam during the years 2001 thru 2004. He enjoyed collecting cars, toys, and guitars. He was a fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Rangers. He served as a youth hockey coach for many years and enjoyed music.
Besides his wife and mother, Mike is survived by his brothers, Robert Swenson of Putnam, and Phillip Swenson of Brooklyn; and his sister, Margaret Jaffer of Shelton, CT.

North Grosvenordale, CT – Donald P. Korch, 79, of Plum Road, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in UMass Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Irene (Blain) Korch. Born in Webster, Ma, he was the son of the late George and Mae (Osterberg) Korch.
Mr. Korch was a Veteran having served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a crew leader for Anchor Glass retiring in 1995. He was a member of the American Legion and volunteered as a Little League Coach.
Besides his wife, Donald is survived by his son, James Korch of Waterford, CT; and his sister, Jane Plaza of Dudley, MA.

Dayville – Michael A. Perron, 44, of Bartlett Meadow Drive, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at home. He was the loving husband of Donna (LeSage) Perron. Born in Putnam, he was the son of Edward and Caroline (Rhault) Perron of Putnam.
Mr. Perron was a graduate of Computer Sciences from New England Technical Institute, and was a former Lieutenant on the Putnam Fire Department. At the time of his death, he worked as a Supervising Marshall for the State of Connecticut Judicial Department. He enjoyed golf, and playing video games with his son. Michael was a NASCAR, Boston Red Sox and Dallas Cowboy Fan.
Besides his wife and parents, he leaves his son, Allen Perron of Dayville; his daughter, Charlaine Willard-Perron of Jonesport, Maine; his brothers, Brian Perron and his wife Sandy of Putnam, David Perron and his wife Kristin of Putnam; his sister, Phyllis Campbell of Putnam; his grandmother, Lucille Rhault of Putnam; his mother in-law, Verna Jacobsen of FL; his brother in-law, Robert LeSage and his wife Luanda of Brooklyn; several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
